Editor's review
This software program helps collect comments/annotations on a PDF and create a separate PDF document containing those comments.
A-PDF Comment Collector is a simple desktop utility program that lets batch collect/export PDF comments into comments summary file. A separate comments summary is created. This PDF file contains a compiled list of the comments in your document. All the review comments from a batch of PDF files thus can be combined into one merged file that can be used as a reference and can be printed out. When dealing with a large set of such comments, this process will ensure that none is missed while processing your responses to those issues. This is a standalone program and does not need any of Adobe products, least of all the Acrobat. Command line support is provided.
The interface is simple and intuitive. It comes with the usual browse and select kind of window that opens up when you want to find a file. A folder also can be added. The same can be dragged and dropped into the interface from the Windows explorer as well. The batch list shows the stats related to the number of pages of each file, its size, date modified, title, author name and subject. These details can act as a check list to ensure you have the right files. After a batch is collected, you need to specify the output file name and select if you need the original file path to be printed on the top of the page followed by the comments extracted. Create PDF and open PDF are the two controls that creates the comments file and then lets you open and see the content to make sure it has been created correctly. This is a nice and easy tool for a specific task.
